The Agat Factory in Russia has a distinguished history. In the cold autumn of 1941 the First Kirov Clock Plant was transferred from Moscow to the distant Zlatoust. Installation of the plant commenced in November, and production started on 25 December 1941, over 70 years ago!

Since that day Agat has continued to manufacture, without interruption, many timing devices used for military and civilian use, used both in Russia and later on throughout the world. Some of those products have become worldwide icons, such as the stopwatches used in Hollywood movies. However, probably the best known and most copied and counterfeited Agat product is the classic and genuine Russian Navy diver’s watch, which is still being hand assembled to order in their Zlatoust factory.
