The Agat Factory in Russia has a distinguished history. In the cold autumn of 1941, the First Kirov Clock Plant was transferred from Moscow to the distant Zlatoust. Installation of the factory commenced in November, and production started on 25 December 1941, almost 80 years ago!
Since that day Agat without interruption, many timing devices for military and civilian use were manufactured. Some even converted to universal icons, like the classic stopwatches used in many Hollywood movies. However, probably the best known Agat product is the classic Russian diver watch, which today is still being hand-assembled in the Zlatoust factory.
